GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The I.S.E.O summer school aims at bringing together a large number of
graduate students coming from the most important international universities to improve their knowledge in economics. Classes will be held by
Nobel Laureates for economic sciences and notable instructors.
We are happy to announce that confirmed lecturers are:
Robert Solow, Nobel Laureate 1987
Michael Spence, Nobel Laureate 2001
George Akerlof, Nobel Laureate 2001
Paul Collier, Professor at the Department of Economics University of Oxford- and Director of the Centre for Studies on African Economies
Ha Joon Chang, Professor at the Department of Economics University of Cambridge
Robert Wescott, Economic advisor for former President Clinton
The I.S.E.O. Summer School introduces to some of the principles of
international economy,
investigating the role of different Countries in the international economic scenario. It focuses on growth, on the strategies and instruments of monetary policy, on the structure and mechanisms of the financial sector, with a particular focus on the welfare state and unemployment.
Every lesson includes a theoretical lecture and a debate on the discussed topics.
Classes take place in a hotel conference center in Iseo, Brescia (Northern Italy).
The official language of the course is
English.
During the week, students will familiarize with the
Italian culture and language. At the end of the course students will also receive a
frequency certificate signed by
our Chairman, Prof. Robert Solow.
APPLICATION CONDITIONS AND DEADLINE
Young graduates (Master and Phd) will be selected. Criteria for admission to the Summer School are based on curriculum vitae and students preparation to participate in advanced studies on the subject. The admission committee looks for mature, academically motivated students who
demonstrate potential for success in a college environment.

Early application is highly encouraged since enrolment is limited.
FEE
The fee amounts to
€ 2.200,00 and shall have to be paid by
20th May 2010.
The fee includes: the participation to the course and relevant documentation, full boarding staying in a four star hotel on the lake (breakfast, lunch and dinner are all included), visits, trips, attendance certificate and local transportation.
Personal expenses ( such as the flight from and to Iseo) and any other expense not expressly stated are not included.
Accomodation will be in double or triple room.
SCHOLARSHIPS
I.S.E.O Institute awards some talented students with
scholarships amounting to
€ 1,500.00. Therefore
awarded students shall have to pay just the remaining € 700,00.
Applying for this scholarship is really easy: the application to the course
automatically involves the request for the scholarship. Everybody can apply for the scholarship.
A special committee will evaluate all the applications and will decide which students to award with the scholarship. This decision will be taken according to the cv, the profile and the academic and professional experience of each enrolled student, together with the motivation to participate to the course.

KISSEP, the Kiel Institute Summerschool on Economic Policy, which will take place in Kiel, Germany, from June 27th to July 2nd, 2010.
