THE NOBELS' SCHOOL IS BACK

I.S.E.O International graduate summerschool is back again, for its 6th edition.
 
As in the previous years, teachers will be Nobel Laureates in Economics and notable international economists who will lead participants to a stimulating discussion about 2009 topics, namely “Financial markets in the world economy”.
 
The aim of the summerschool is that of bringing together a large number of graduate students coming from the most important worldwide universities to improve their knowledge in economics. Going into specific, the I.S.E.O. Summer School introduces to some of the principles of international economy, investigating the role of America and Europe in the international economic scenario. It focuses on growth, on the strategies and instruments of monetary policy, on the structure and mechanisms of the financial sector, with a particular focus on the welfare state and unemployment. The course has a comparative perspective, therefore every subject compares the US and European economies. Every lesson includes a one hour theoretical lecture and a two hour debate on the discussed topics.
 
USEFUL INFORMATION
Young graduates (Master and Phd) will be selected. Criteria for admission to the Summer School are based on curriculum vitae and students preparation to participate in advanced studies on the subject. The admission committee looks for mature, academically motivated students who demonstrate potential for success in a college environment.
 
The official language of the school is English.
 
In order to apply, students have to fill in an application form downloadable from our website.
 
The application form should be sent via email together with a personal cv by 25 April 2009 to the Summer School Secretariat: summerschool@istiseo.org. Early application is highly encouraged since enrolment is limited.
 
The fee amounts to € 2.200,00 and shall have to be paid by 20 May 2009. The fee includes: the course and the documentation, full boarding staying in 4 star hotel, visits and local transportation. Personal expenses and any other expense not expressly stated are not included. Accomodation will be in double or triple room. The hotel where classes will be run and where participants will be accommodated for the whole of the week is Iseo Lago Hotel (Address: Via Colombera, 25049 Iseo (Brescia) Italy. www.iseolagohotel.it).
 
I.S.E.O Institute awards some students with scholarships amounting to € 1,500.00. Therefore awarded students shall have to pay just the remaining € 700,00. Every student can apply for the scholarship. The choice of awarded students is taken by a special committee which judge the cv and profile of each enrolled student and take into consideration also the motivation to participate to the course.
