ISEO SUMMER SCHOOL 2004
In 2004, ISEO created, following an idea of prof. Modigliani, the first ISEO Summer School in Economics science for students of the faculties of economics, social science and law of the European and American university, The Summer School, organized by ISEO Institute, aims to provide students with an in-depth view of Europe’s economy and labour market, as a result of the expansion of the European Union to the Eastern European countries. 40 students, coming from more than 20 different countries, attended the event last June. Students had the opportunity to take part in an international debate and to learn the most famous theories on economic, political and social changes from their authors, working with people from other universities in a multinational setting and availing themselves of the experiences of an international team of experts, among them two Nobel Laureates for Economic science. The first edition of ISEO summer school started with an open seminar in which Prof. Michael Spence (Nobel Laureate 2001) and Prof. Myron Scholes (Nobel Laureate 1997) delivered lectures focused on Information Technology and Financial Markets. Moreover students took part in seminar in the University of Bergamo where Professor Joseph Stiglitz had a Lectio Magistralis. In one week students combined the study of economic science with Nobel Laureates with vacation in one of the most charming Italian lake.
