I.S.E.O. CONFERENCES
Following on from the success of the two editions of the European Colloquia hold in Prague and Wien in 2006 and 2007 I.S.E.O Institute, together with Pioneer Investments, is happy to announce the details of the upcoming event which will take place in Venice at the Cini Foundation and which will be dedicated to “ The World Economy, Financial Markets and investors at an akward corner”.
 
During the event we will partner once again with leading Nobel laureates to discuss topics at the forefront of global economic thinking. As well as debating current challenges and new macroeconomic trends, we will also analyze the role of monetary policy in economic management and consider the consequences for portfolio structures.
 
Following the opening address by Lorenzo-Bini Smaghi, a member of the executive board of the ECB, we will hear from the three Nobel Laureates. Going into specific, Robert Solow and Michael Spence will share their perspective on global growth and why we may need to rethink our views on growth going forward. George Akerlof will highlight his latest research and the importance of understanding the effects of behavioural factors.
 
In addition, leading market practitioners and academics such as Marco Onado (Bocconi University), Franco Bruni (Bocconi University), Stephen Zeldes (Columbia University), Tullio Jappelli (Federico II Naples University), Ester Faia (University of Rome, Tor Vergata), Lorenzo Bini –Smaghi ( executive board member of the ECB) , Sushil Wadhwhani ( CEO Wadhwhani asset management)and Alessandro Profumo (CEO UniCredit group)will address the current controversies over monetary policy.

Participation to the event is free. However, due to the restricted number of places available, early reservation is compulsory. You just have to write an email to colloquia@istiseo.org specifying “Reservation for European Colloquia” and writing the name and email address of the participant. You will then receive a message of confirmation. In case of unforeseen events which unable you to participate, please communicate your cancellation as soon as possible.
