GREAT OPENING FOR THE I.S.E.O 1OTH ANNIVERSARY
FULL HOUSE FOR THE MEETING WITH JOHN NASH AND ROBERT AUMANN

An extraordinary success. The XXIX international conference “Meeting brilliant minds” greatly opened the calendar of the activities for the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the I.S.E.O institute founded ten years ago by Franco Modigliani.

620 people attended the meeting held on the 18th of March at the UBI banca conference room in Brescia charmed by the unique possibility to see two of the most world-wide well-known mathematicians and economists, who received the prestigious award from the Nobel Prize Foundation thanks to their research on the Game Theory.

On one side John Nash, the American mathematician with an adventurous life, which become famous thanks to the movie A beautiful mind, on the other hand Prof. Auman, Israeli with German origins who gave extraordinary interesting application to the Game theory especially in the economic field.

Prof. Piergiorgio Odifreddi, another outstanding scientist, moderated and stimulated the debate. Odifreddi is a logic and mathematician teaching both at Torino and Cornell University and he’s also the author of several best sellers. Prof. Gianfranco Gambarelli, teaching at the Math department of the University of Bergamo, opened the conference with a general overview about Game theory.
